Well my, my, my! I have not written on my Torch journey for three days! Did you wonder if I’d quit? Did you wonder if I’d gone off-track? Did ya?! Did ya?!
Because Mamas…I DID! Bahahaha. I sure did. My friends are terrible, terrible women and they pour wine down my throat. They hold me down and forcibly make me drink the sweet, sweet nectar that is wine. Mmmmmmmm wine.
Alright. No. Nevermind. My friends are awesome people and I am so freakin’ grateful to have them in my life. But I beg of you, please understand…we had to get through “Chadd-ageddon” on the Bachelorette on Friday AND I had 8 5-6-year-olds sleeping over…wine was a lifeline and I reached for it and used up all of its power. Oh yes I did. The good news? I managed to not eat my face off after my wine…so…a WIN!
So yes, I had some wine. And no, that’s not part of the program, but I’m woman enough to admit to you that yes, I sooooooo had wine. And yes, it was soooooooo deeeelicious! Ha!
However, my workouts did not falter. I stayed the course on those suckers. And Saturday, I got back on to following the nutrition guidelines and have stuck to them the past two days. Although it’s amazing the slippery slope one little wine-cheat can create. I kept thinking “well, I already had wine, so maybe just one little peanut butter cup!”…but I didn’t. Nope. Ok. I had a peanut butter cup.
Ok. Fine. Stop bugging me. I had a peanut butter cup.
Shoot.
Hmph. Okay, okay. I’m back on track! My workouts haven’t suffered and Sunday was my rest day. On Day 11 I got in my Metabolic Workout #3 done and today, Day 13, I got in the OHM’s favorite (which changed my day from blue to AWESOME in the space of 20 minutes). I plan on going to a Hot Mama class this evening for a little Strength & Sass and if I don’t make it there, I’ll get Full Body Torch #1 done here at home.
There. See? Everyone slips at some point. Well…maybe not everyone. But, it’s not uncommon and no, I’m not beating myself up over it. I relaxed and permitted myself to just enjoy the time with my gals. We drank wine, we ridiculed Chad, we laughed…and I so needed that.
This week I am laser focused because I want to prep my body the best I can for our Tough Mudder event this weekend. I talking fueling my body the way it needs to be fueled and I’m talking hydrating properly, starting today, so that I am fully hydrated for the event on Saturday! Wahooooo! More on that later…
For now…let me tell you this…if you slipped, slid and skidded off track…it’s a really easy step to get back on track. You just stop giving yourself permission to slide. You re-read the guidelines and the rules and you re-focus. That’s what I’m doing this week. Stop beating yourself up, stop getting down on yourself…empower yourself. Give yourself permission to forgive (if you need to) and give yourself permission to get back on track.
It really CAN be that simple. I promise. I’ve done it. Go easy on yourself and remember you’re worth it. You deserve to feel good. Trust me. You do.
Smooooooooooch! Muah!
