Whoa. Just whoa. I haven’t written about Torch in 4 days?! What the what?!
You’ve been waiting with baited breath haven’t you?! You poor dears…have no fear…I’m here! And I’m blasting through Torch one (freakin’ HARD) workout at a time!
So, what happened this week that had me otherwise occupado? Life! Life did. But, have no fear, I’m remained on course and have managed to crank out every workout and follow the nutrition guidleines. Every single last one of ‘em. Until today…
I’m not going to get to my workout in today. Today…we travel to Tough Mudder and I figure I want to conserve my energy for tomorrow’s big event.
I will write more about my Tough Mudder experience next week, but let me just say this for today…this weekend is going to be one emotional ride.
IGNITE was designed by me from the bottom of the dark, deep and lonely hole of depression. I never thought I could be a depressed person, but injury, pain, frustration and not being able to do what I love can really rock a gal’s world. It certainly rocked mine.
For those of you not in the know, last year on March 10th at 9:55am (yeah, it’s that memorable) I jumped off a 4’ wall and tore my ACL. I had a full reconstructive surgery on May 21st and have been recovering every since. I designed IGNITE to help boost my energy and get me out of my depression. It worked. Oh boy did it work!
I designed IGNITE’s Burn level first, because I wanted to challenge myself and at the time I was designing the program for my own personal use. I like to challenge myself, so I designed some killer workouts and came up with a 28-day plan. As I went through the 28-day program I began to realize…I bet others could benefit from this.
IGNITE’s Burn level gave me so much energy, helped me lose the weight I had gained (I gained 22.5lbs from the time I injured to the time I started crawling out of my black hole) and boosted my energy and confidence. So yeah…who couldn’t use this?! I need to share this.
I named my newest program IGNITE because that’s how I felt. I felt ignited. Lit up. Fueled. IGNITED.
I realized I needed to design two other levels of IGNITE because although I was injured, my fitness level would still be considered “Advanced” (brag much, Lindsay?! HA!). So, I took the few months required to design Fuel (Beginner) and Flash (Advanced). Phew!
Not only did IGNITE help me physically, it also helped me mentally. I put my PhD to use and I created some really killer workout. THEN…we launched IGNITE!
Feedback was phenomenal…but the question became…”but happens after Burn?”.
So…I designed one more level…Torch! I trialed Torch out 2 times before I released it to the public and the journey you’re reading about is my third time going through the Torch level of IGNITE. And trust me, it doesn’t get easy.
It just gets awesomer. Yeah…awesomer. It’s not a word, but I’m using it!
So, today I will miss my Torch workout and prepare for Tough Mudder. This weekend will be a culmination of all the hard work, both physically and mentally, I’ve had to find within myself and put into myself to get me recovered and…once again…loving myself.
I fully expect tears and a lot of #dancedammit moments.
For those of you who have to IGNITE…do it. I’m not just saying that because I designed it. I’m saying it because it can help you. It can help you in more ways that you’ll ever know….until you do it…then you’ll know…obviously. Sheesh.
With that, I say good-bye for now. I’m going to go have a snuggle with my kiddos, kiss ‘em good-bye and head out with some of the coolest chicks I know…my Hot Mamas!
Have a great few days, Mamas! Chat soon!
